Who are we?
We are Thirsk Tourist Information, a company limited by guarantee (no. 7517646). This means that it is not for profit and instead of share capital or shareholders it has Members. In our case all Members are also volunteers for the organisation. Nobody, including directors, is paid. The registered address is 93A Market Place, Thirsk YO7 1EY.
How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you use the visitthirsk.uk website, contact us about products and services, subscribe to our publicity services, make a donation, register to receive local news or sell us something. We also collect information from public sources.

Another example is when we use a third party Internet company (Linode) to store and process details to assist communication with you. However, where we use third party service providers we have contracts in place that require them to keep your information secure.
Your choices, updates and access to your information
You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone, text message or post unless you have given your prior consent.
You can send us changes of preferences, email address or other information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, phoning 01845 518187 or visiting Thirsk’s information office. We will also delete all or part of your information on request.

Thirsk’s information office has two closed circuit cameras recording continuously. The only use of the pictures is for the prevention and investigation of crime. We also have a public webcam overlooking Thirsk Market Place which is not recorded.
